My Writing Journey
I began writing at a young age. My year 6 English teacher wrote in my school report that "my stories always made her smile".
Now, I don't write many long stories. I now write poetry, short prose and scripts, mainly writing about mental health and my own experiences in life.
At 14, I joined my local New Writing North writing group, which is when I really got 'seriously' into writing as a hobby and a possible future job.

At 15, I won a Northern Writers' Award through my work with New Writing North, and from then my confidence grew. My time with New Writing North has given me many opportunities to work with a wide range of excellent writers and chances to perform. You can find a short interview with me about my time with the organisation on the New Writing North page HERE.

I have, over the last few months, began my journey as a creative freelancer, leading creative writing sessions for both young people and adult groups.
